What does the core course cover?
The combined session covers CPR, automated external defibrillator use and basic life support. The
full course page sets out the topics, included materials and booking details.
How long does the course take?
The standard course is a two-hour session. Plan for attendees to be available throughout, with venue access and setup arrangements agreed beforehand.
How many people can attend?
The standard session is for up to 15 delegates. If you have more people, share the numbers and any different locations or shifts so additional sessions or another suitable arrangement can be discussed.
Do attendees need previous experience?
No previous first aid or AED training is required for the core CPR/AED/BLS course. For a specialist or clinical requirement, tell us about participants’ roles and experience before booking.
Is this the same as a First Aid at Work qualification?
No. This course focuses on CPR, AED use and basic life support. If your organisation needs Emergency First Aid at Work, First Aid at Work, paediatric or a clinical qualification, tell us before booking so the required scope can be confirmed.
Does the course include infant or child training?
Do not assume that the standard course meets a paediatric training requirement. Tell us the relevant age groups, required content and any qualification needed so suitability can be confirmed before you book.
Is this a complete dental medical emergencies course?
The standard community CPR/AED/BLS course is not presented as a complete dental medical emergencies, sedation or other specialist clinical course. Discuss your required clinical competencies and CPD evidence with us before booking.
How much does onsite training cost?
The standard two-hour group course is £399 + VAT (£478.80 including VAT) for up to 15 delegates. DST also publishes a £299 + VAT training price when purchased with a defibrillator. Ask us to confirm the package and booking arrangements.
Is the course priced per person?
The standard price is per group session, for up to 15 people. At a full group of 15, £399 + VAT works out at £26.60 + VAT per person. The total session price remains the same for a smaller group.
What is included in the price?
The standard course price includes the training session, certificates and individual AED/BLS booklets. The final quotation confirms your booking arrangements. If you have a particular certificate or evidence requirement, raise it in advance.
Do you offer a discount when buying an AED?
DST publishes training at £299 + VAT (£358.80 including VAT) when purchased with a defibrillator. The device costs extra. Ask the team to confirm eligibility and the overall package price.
Do you travel to our premises?
DST offers onsite training across the UK. Send your full location details, including any access or travel considerations. Availability and the venue arrangements are confirmed before booking.
Can you train staff at more than one location?
Yes—send us your locations, approximate delegate numbers and preferred timing. We will discuss a practical delivery plan and provide a quotation.
Can we choose a date or time?
You can include a preferred date and your flexibility in the enquiry. A requested date is not reserved until availability and booking arrangements have been confirmed by DST.
How does the online enquiry work?
Complete the training enquiry form and select “Send enquiry”. Your details are sent to our sales inbox without opening an email app. The page confirms a successful submission or shows a problem while keeping your details available. We confirm dates, suitability and price separately; submitting the form does not book a course.
What if we need to change or cancel a booking?
Contact DST as soon as your requirements change. The terms agreed for your booking govern amendments, cancellation and payment. Ask the team to explain any point before confirming.
Do we need to have a defibrillator already?
No. You can enquire about training whether or not you own an AED. If you have one, tell us its make and model so we can discuss familiarisation with your equipment.
What do we need to provide at the venue?
A suitable room, enough space for practical activities, access for the trainer and an onsite contact are useful starting points. Tell us about access restrictions or equipment requirements when enquiring. See our
preparation checklist.
Can you accommodate accessibility requirements?
Tell us about any adjustments, communication needs or physical access considerations before booking. We can discuss suitable arrangements and how delegates can participate. Please avoid including sensitive medical details in the initial enquiry.
How often should training be refreshed?
Frequency depends on roles, your organisation’s requirements and the course or qualification involved. HSE strongly recommends annual refresher training for workplace first aiders, while clinical settings may have specific expectations. Our
refresher page links to relevant guidance.
Can you guarantee a particular certificate or CPD status?
The core course includes certificates and AED/BLS booklets. A regulated qualification, specific CPD evidence, employer acceptance or specialist competency assessment should not be assumed. Tell us what you need so it can be confirmed before booking.
